Optimum adjustment of capacity to demand

We control and optimize our own and external assets so that the energy production is always perfectly adjusted to the current demand –24 hours/day, 7 days/week. A large, diversified pool of assets improves adaptability, optimizes availability and enables portfolio effects.

Our many years of experience within the STEAG Group enable optimum management of both conventional power plants and those plants that use renewable energies. We develop close-to-wholesale, non-standardized products for the management of our own and external plants.

    • Control Power

      Control Power

We market energy from our own and external assets as well as the STEAG large-scale battery systems to the control power markets. The bundling of different assets with varying flexibilities in the "STEAG OneOpt " optimization network enables financially successful trade in both primary and secondary control and also in the minute reserve. Our many years of experience ensure that we can model the control power markets accordingly and successfully position the capacity in the market for the operators.

    • Direct Marketing

      Direct Marketing

We market the energy generated from wind, sun, biogas, biomass and mine gas in the day ahead and intraday markets for the STEAG Group. For optimum marketing we use the option to bundle several plants together according to demand in the "STEAG OneOpt" optimization network.

      More about OneOpt

    • Power Purchase Agreements (PPA)

      Power Purchase Agreements (PPA)

The wide-ranging STEAG portfolio enables us to offer long-term and individual power supplies which are closely linked to an asset. Instead of building an asset ourselves, the customer can contract individual assets from our portfolio.

    • Virtual Power Plants (VPP)

      Virtual Power Plants (VPP)

The capacity of some assets is converted into a marketable energy product by Trading & Optimization. The customer has the opportunity to receive power from our generation portfolio and thus access our flexibility. The customer can use the virtual slices of power plants to control a fluctuating renewables portfolio or to achieve a margin through trading in the energy markets.
