    Termopaipa Power Plant

    Colombia

The Termopaipa hard coal fired power plant located near the town of Paipa (Colombia) was the first power plant abroad planned, financed and built by STEAG. The plant went into commercial operation on 7 January 1999. With an installed capacity of 165 MW, the power plant even in dry periods reliably supplies electricity to the population and for use in infrastructure and industry.

The capacity of this power plant is currently sold to a local partner via a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA). Trading & Optimization also provides support for the future marketing of the power plant capacity – via the wholesale market and/or a new PPA.
